Today I had Mary Ann, Steven, and Grandson Skyler on a Striper trip. We started off at the Clam Beds, we were the only ones there. Thats because the Stripers weren't! We caught some blues there and when the action died we moved to Romer Shoal Lighthouse. At the lighthouse we caught more blues and a couple short stripers. Mary Ann got a 24" and Skler landed a 26" with an assist from me. I guess the blues wore him out.
Seems as though we were in the wrong spot. Reports came out later that they killed them at Romer. I think they meant the shoal area and not the lighthouse.
On the way back in we picked up a garbage bag that wrapped around the motor and caused the water flow to stop and overheat the engine. Hopefully there won't be any motor issues because of this. We made it in OK and the engine seemed fine!
Tommorow we try again!
