Fishing Saturday May 17th, 2008

Went out fishing and it prooved to be a rough and tough one at that. The wind was blowing a steady 15 knots and increased to 20 knots from the west.

Our first stop was East of the Shoal. No readings there, but we set the hook and started clamming anyhow. Nothing....Zip.....Zero.....NADA! The wind started picking up so we battled the waves and headed to the Clam Beds where we had seen some other boats set up. The wind was being blocked pretty well from Sandy Hook Beach. We came up on some good readings and set the hook again. Within 10 minutes, FISH ON! I landed a 31 inch bass. Mylissa and Paul got a few hits with the Blues and then the wind found us again and shut down the bite. Called it a day at Noon.
